A Letter to My Best Friend
Dear Tuzi:
Hi, my best friend, is everything all right with you? I miss you so much. Since I have been New York for one year, I have changed a lot. I want to tell you something about me and the things around me.
When I first came here, I didn’t really like this country. Because everything is so strange to me and I even couldn’t get understand a word when people talk to me. I had no friends here. So I felt so lonely at that time and I just wanted to go back home everyday.
There are many beautiful places in New York . But I like the beach best. As you know, our hometown is far from the sea. So I didn’t have many opportunities to go to the beach. But New York is different. This city is surrounded by the sea. I could clearly remember once when I went to the beach. When I lay on the beach, I could fell the wind touching my body. And the wind smelled so good. I felt more relaxed than I have ever done before. When I closed my eyes, I felt that everything is not important -- just forget all the troubles and enjoy this moment.
This semester, I entered Baruch College . It’s the first time I went to a college in this country. That means I have to learn all the classes in English. That’s a very big challenge for me. Even though my English is much better than before, I still have to learn much more. I will work harder on my classes. School’s studying is a little hard. The first day of school, I had a class’s beginning at 7:50am. I woke up at 5:40am that day. It took me about 1.5 hours to school by traffic. I had 3 classes that day and finished my school’s study at 4:35pm. It made me feel a little tired. But I enjoyed in it.
Since last time I saw you. I changed a lot. It seems like I grew up 5 years in 1 year. What about you? I heard you just graduated from college this year and found a job. Do you enjoy your new job? Hope to hear you soon and take care of yourself, my best friend.
Yours.
